The
Sacred Life
The
call from Spirit is the only temptation that weighs positive
on the balance beam of life and yet the only one we resist.
Perhaps because it whispers softly rather than clanging loudly
do we miss its beautiful invitation to a sacred life. We are
so used to having our senses bombarded by the salesmen of material
reality that the gems of timeless value remain discreetly beyond
our vision. It is always a good time to close the shop of mortal
thought for a moment and take inventory of our souls. The spiritual
life has a tendency to get dusty because we relegate it to the
back shelf or to the upper one that is hard to reach. Out of
sight, out of mind, it sits patiently with inestimable worth
waiting to be come upon by anyone who perchance stops before
it. You are, indeed, very blessed. Having slowed down to have
a look around, you are the one who has discovered the prize.
Upon you, holy one of God, will be bestowed the pearl of great
price...
